Global Talent Ireland Scholarship 2026 (Fully Funded)

Application is invited to apply for Global Talent Ireland 2025, a flagship research recruitment programme launched by Research Ireland to attract world-class investigators and build high-impact research teams in Ireland. Backed by the merger of Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and the Irish Research Council (IRC), this Global Talent Ireland recruitment initiative offers multi-year, high-value research awards and comprehensive relocation grants and startup funding in Ireland to help international researchers establish ambitious programmes.

The scheme features two targeted funding streams — Rising Stars (mid-career researchers, 5–15 years post-PhD) and Research Leaders (senior investigators, 16+ years post-PhD) — both providing competitive research leader grants in Ireland, access to world-class infrastructure, and resources to mentor early-career scientists, translate research into impact, and drive economic and societal innovation across sectors.

If you are an ambitious researcher seeking Ireland research fellowships for international scientists, multi-year research funding in Ireland, or an opportunity to lead a centre of excellence, apply now for Global Talent Ireland 2025 and join a strategic national effort to accelerate research, scale teams, and deliver measurable impact.

Who this call is for

Rising Stars: Mid-career researchers (PhD awarded 2010–2020) with a record of independence, publications, and leadership potential.

Research Leaders: Established senior researchers (PhD awarded before 2009) with strong international recognition and proven strategic leadership.

Applicants must hold a PhD (or equivalent) and be employed outside Ireland at the time of application. Both academic and industry-based researchers are eligible.
