University of Porto Merit Scholarships

The University of Porto promotes and/or sponsors various types of financial support programs for its students, including international students.

Students from the Member States of the European Union, stateless students, and students from countries with which U.Porto has cooperation agreements (excluding students covered by the International Student Statute) enrolled in baccalaureate, master’s degree courses, and integrated master’s degree from the U. Porto can apply for the scholarships awarded by the University Social Services.

SASUP Scholarships

Students who wish to study in Portugal for bachelor’s, Master’s, or Integrated Master’s Courses can apply for SASUP Scholarships.

The scholarship consists of a monthly allowance to cover the expenses of attending U.Porto. Thus, economically disadvantaged students are supported to bear the financial burden of not only school supplies and tuition fees, but also accommodation, food, transportation, and other costs.

Scientific Scholarship

Through its schools and research centers, the U. Porto sponsors and awards scholarships for scientific initiation and research scholarships to holders of bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degrees to obtain scientific training in research projects or in national scientific and technological institutions.

The scholarship normally lasts for one year, is renewable for up to three years, and cannot be awarded for less than three consecutive months.
