Ministry of Taiwan Scholarship 2026 (Fully Funded)

The Ministry of Education (MOE) of Taiwan is inviting applications for the prestigious Taiwan Scholarship 2026, designed to encourage outstanding international students (excluding students from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau) to pursue degree studies in Taiwan. This scholarship program aims to familiarize students with Taiwan’s academic environment while promoting cross-cultural communication, understanding, and friendship between Taiwan and the global community.

The Taiwan Scholarship supports undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degree programs, as well as Mandarin language programs. It covers a wide range of academic fields, including science, technology, engineering, arts, social sciences, and more, making it one of the most inclusive scholarships available for international students.

💰 Scholarship Benefits

The MOE Taiwan Scholarship Program provides the following benefits to outstanding international students pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree:

Discounts on Tuition and Fees: Some universities/colleges may offer additional discounts on tuition and/or miscellaneous expenses. Details of these discounts are submitted annually by the university/college to the MOE.

Tuition and Miscellaneous Expenses: The MOE covers approved tuition and miscellaneous expenses up to NTD 40,000 per semester. If the total expenses exceed NTD 40,000, the remaining amount must be paid by the student. Miscellaneous expenses do not include administration fees, thesis supervision fees, insurance premiums, accommodation, or internet access, which are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient.

Scholarship Duration and Time Limits

  • Total Scholarship Duration: A maximum of 5 years per individual
  • Undergraduate Programs: Maximum of 4 years
  • Master’s Programs: Maximum of 2 years
  • Doctoral Programs: Maximum of 4 years

Eligibility Criteria:

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Taiwan Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a foreign national with a secondary school graduation diploma or a post-secondary diploma/degree.
  • Demonstrate an excellent academic record and good moral character.

Ineligible Candidates Include :

  • ROC nationals or overseas Chinese students.
  • Individuals already enrolled or maintaining student status at any university/college in Taiwan.
  • Students who have previously studied in Taiwan at the same degree level they intend to pursue.
  • Exchange or dual/joint degree students admitted through academic cooperation agreements.
  • Individuals who have held a Taiwan Scholarship for a total of 5 years.
  • Those who have had a Taiwan Scholarship or MOE Huayu Enrichment Scholarship revoked.
  • Recipients of other scholarships or subsidies from Taiwan government agencies or educational institutions (excluding subsidies provided by universities to cover excess tuition).
