Applications are now open for the Université Grenoble Alpes IDEX Master Scholarships 2027, a prestigious French government–backed excellence scholarship designed to attract high-achieving international students to pursue Master’s and Engineering degrees in France. This competitive funding opportunity is part of the Initiative of Excellence (IDEX) program, one of France’s most powerful higher-education and research initiatives.
The UGA IDEX Master Scholarship 2027 targets talented students seeking affordable master’s programs in France with scholarship support at a globally ranked research university. International applicants who are currently studying outside France or who obtained their previous degree from a foreign university are strongly encouraged to apply. Students who earned their Baccalauréat or equivalent abroad are also eligible, even if they later studied in France.

Scholarships Coverage
The amount of the scholarship is 8,000 euros for one academic year (i.e., 2 semesters). If one of the two semesters is dedicated to an internship, for a second year in a master’s degree or the third year of an engineering degree, the amount of the scholarship is reduced to 5,000 euros.
The scholarship is only given for one year, and laureates will have to apply again for the second year of the master’s program (academic year 2026-2027).
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their academic record.
The Master’s scholarship doesn’t exempt students from paying tuition fees. T, this depends on the Master’s program.

How To Apply
The application process is as follows:
The student must first apply for one of the master’s or engineering degrees offered by the above-mentioned academic institutions. The application must be for the academic year 2026-2027. Each Master has its own application. Application deadlines vary (see degree for more information).
In most cases, applicants can apply for the scholarship can be applied for together with at the same time as their application for the master’s degree, on the academic division’s website dedicated to master’s degree applications.
The University Division then selects students for the IdEx scholarship.
The results for the award of the Master’s scholarships will be sent shortly after the admission results for the Master’s program to which the student has applied.
