The University of St Andrews Global Scholarship Scheme is open for application. The University of St Andrews Global Scholarship in the UK offers esteemed awards to exceptional scholars worldwide. Global Fellows are expected to hold an established academic position.
Applicants to the Global Fellowship Scheme should be recognized as significant scholars in their field or emerging leaders who have contributed to original research that extends the frontier of knowledge.
The University of St Andrews is a public university in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland. It is the oldest of the four ancient universities of Scotland and, following the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, the third-oldest university in the English-speaking world.

Scholarship Benefits
Global Fellows will be expected to engage virtually with students and colleagues throughout the 2023-2024 academic year, and visit St Andrews between 1 August 2023 and 31 July 2024. Applicants not available during this time should consider applying in a future round of the scheme.
The University provides all Global Fellows with the following:
- a stipend of £1000 per 28-day visit (or per day sum for shorter stays)
- self-catered accommodation in a one-bedroom apartment or equivalent
- return airfare in economy class, booked by the University
- airport transfers to and from St Andrews
- access to University IT and library facilities.

Eligibility: Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. degree or equivalent. Candidates must also be based outside the UK and be employed in a university, research institute, or similar.
Applications will be reviewed by the relevant Schools. Final decisions about the awards will be made centrally by a multi-disciplinary selection committee comprised of senior academic and professional staff at the University of St Andrews.
Results will be announced in May 2023. Please note that it will not possible to provide detailed feedback for unsuccessful applicants.
