Algoma University Entrance Scholarships

To be eligible for the following awards, international students must hold a temporary resident visa as a member of the student class under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act of Canada, on the first day of classes.

All students, including university transfers, second-degree students, college diploma graduates, and college transfer students, who are required to pay the international differential fee, are eligible for the Entrance Scholarship.

Students must successfully fulfill all qualifying requirements in the academic year prior to commencing their studies at Algoma University.

International scholarships cannot be deferred under any circumstances. Students must accept the terms and conditions of admission and the scholarship awarded for the year in which the offer was made.

As these awards cover two semesters within an academic year (Fall/Winter), students entering in the Winter or Spring term will be considered for awards in the next academic year.

Entrance scholarships are exclusively available for undergraduate degree programs.

Chancellor’s Award: $5,000 Renewable

The Chancellor’s Award is a scholarship valued at $5,000 per academic year for international secondary school graduates entering their first year of study for an undergraduate degree at Algoma University. To qualify, candidates must be studying on a full-time basis (15 credits per term over Fall/Winter).

President’s Award: $2,500 Non-Renewable

The President’s Award is an entrance scholarship valued at $2,500 for international secondary school graduates entering their first year of study for an undergraduate degree at Algoma University. To qualify, candidates must be studying on a full-time basis (12 credits per term over Fall/Winter).

Dean’s Award: $1,000 Non-Renewable

The Dean’s Award is an entrance scholarship valued at $1,000 for international secondary school graduates entering their first year of study for an undergraduate degree at Algoma University. To qualify, candidates must be studying on a full-time basis (12 credits per term over Fall/Winter).
