Eligibility Criteria for QUT Postgraduate Research Scholarships

To qualify for the QUTPRA 2026 round, applicants must meet specific academic and enrollment guidelines.

For New Applicants (Future Students):

Academic & English Requirements: You must meet QUT’s direct admission criteria for your selected Master’s or Doctoral research program, including meeting the English language proficiency requirements (IELTS/TOEFL).

No Double Funding: You cannot hold another primary living allowance or tuition scholarship from any other source while receiving the QUTPRA.

Full-Time Enrollment: You must enroll as a full-time, internal student studying on-campus in Brisbane, Australia (unless part-time or external study is formally approved under special conditions).

For Currently Enrolled QUT Research Students:

Current students are eligible to apply if they have completed less than the following Equivalent Full-Time Study Load (EFTSL):

  • PhD candidates: Must have completed less than 1 year of EFTSL.
  • MPhil candidates: Must have completed less than 6 months of EFTSL.
