The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) and the Alva Myrdal Centre for Nuclear Disarmament (AMC) at Uppsala University are thrilled to announce an exclusive opportunity for emerging professionals in the fields of disarmament, nonproliferation, and arms control. In cooperation with the Odesa Center for Nonproliferation (OdCNP), the 2025 Armament and Disarmament Summer School is set to be a transformative experience held from 25–29 August 2025 in Sweden.

Who Should Apply? Eligibility Criteria

This program is open to 25 highly motivated individuals who are passionate about advancing their careers in international security and peace research. Ideal candidates include students, researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and junior professionals from governmental or non-governmental organizations and think tanks.

Eligibility Requirements:

Educational Background: Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree before the course begins and should be currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from a university.
Experience: Prior participation in the summer school disqualifies candidates.
Diversity and Inclusion: The selection committee is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Special encouragement is extended to women, underrepresented groups, and candidates from developing countries.
Language Proficiency: The entire program will be conducted in English, and participants must demonstrate a high level of proficiency. There is no provision for interpretation or translation.
