Eligibility Criteria
Intend to study abroad in Japan from overseas. Not having Japanese nationality and being a citizen of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan. Born on or after April 2, 1986. Have achieved a GPA of at least 2.30 on a 3.00 scale at their most recent college.
Undergraduate Students: Candidates who have completed 12 years of school education in countries other than Japan.
Master’s Course: Candidates who have completed 16 years of school education in countries other than Japan.
Doctoral Course: Candidates who have completed 18 years of school education in countries other than Japan.

MEXT Scholarship Benefits
The MEXT Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship for international students and will cover most of the student expenses.
100% of the monthly fee (covered by APU’s monthly fee reduction grant). JPY 144,000 per month for living expenses (amount subject to change). Economy class air travel between the country of origin and the APU at the beginning and end of the program.
APU Tuition Reduction Scholarship
APU Tuition Reduction Scholarships are offered in percentages of 30%, 50%, 65%, 80%, and 100%, and cover the least amount of academic credits needed to graduate within the standard period of time.
These scholarships are made available by the financial contributions of domestic and international companies and individuals, together with the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), to support the ideals of APU, with the purpose of helping to reduce the financial burden for outstanding international students of lesser financial means.
