Applications are now open for the Canada Government Scholarship 2027 for International Students, a prestigious fully funded Canadian scholarship program for Master’s and PhD degrees. Each year, the Government of Canada awards nearly 5,000 fully funded graduate scholarships in Canada, creating exceptional opportunities for high-achieving international students to pursue advanced academic and research programs.

The Study in Canada Scholarships program is designed to expand global academic collaboration by enabling international students to undertake short-term research exchanges, graduate studies, and advanced academic training at Canadian post-secondary institutions. This initiative strengthens Canada’s position as a global hub for world-class higher education, innovation, and research excellence.

Through this Government of Canada fully funded scholarship, selected candidates may receive tuition support, travel funding, living stipends, and research grants, depending on the specific scholarship stream and host institution. The program supports diverse disciplines, including engineering and technology, health sciences, artificial intelligence, environmental sustainability, business administration, and social sciences research.

Financial Coverage

Scholarship value and duration must be as follows:

• $10,200 for 4 months or one academic term for study or research at the college of undergraduate level
• $10,200 for 4 months or one academic term for study or research at the graduate level (Master’s and PhD)
• $14,000 for 5 to 6 months for study or research at the graduate level (Master’s and PhD)

Failure to comply with the project parameters may affect funding.

Canadian institutions will receive funding from Global Affairs Canada, through its legal name, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD), in the form of a non-negotiable contribution agreement.

Each participating institution will be required to agree with its selected students and will be responsible for disbursing the scholarship funds to them. Should there be changes to the planned mobilities, funding may be adjusted accordingly.

Eligibility Criteria

You must not have Canadian citizenship or permanent residence and must not have a pending application for permanent residence in Canada.

You must apply for and be admitted to a full-time academic program at a Canadian post-secondary institution;

You must indicate your interest in being considered for the Canada Scholarship Program when applying for admission to a Canadian institution, and

You must possess the language skills necessary to undertake studies in the language of instruction at the Canadian post-secondary institution (English or French).

• Europe: Türkiye, Ukraine;
• Middle East and North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia;
• Sub-Saharan Africa: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda.

The last date to apply for the Canadian Government Scholarships 2027 for International Students is March 31, 2026.
