If you are a Dalhousie master’s student expecting to transfer or fast-track to a doctoral program in January or May of the current academic year, or in September or January of the next academic year, you are encouraged to apply for doctoral-level awards. Dalhousie University Scholarships encompass several categories, each offering different levels of financial support:
Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship
For Master’s level recipients, this award provides an annual amount of $10,000 for two years, with the possibility of annual renewal. Doctoral-level recipients receive $15,000 annually for four years, subject to annual renewal.
Killam Predoctoral Scholarships
For Master’s (Level 1) students, the scholarship includes support of up to $42,000 per year for a maximum of two years, along with an additional $2,500 allocated for international tuition fees and a relocation allowance if applicable. Doctoral (Level 2) students are eligible for up to $42,000 per year for a maximum of three years, with a relocation allowance if necessary.
Vitamin Scholarship
The award is valued at $19,000 for Master’s students and $21,000 for Doctoral students for an academic year spanning 12 months. Typically, one to two awards are granted each year.
Abdul Majid Bader Graduate Scholarship
This scholarship is valued at $40,000 for one full-time academic year lasting 12 months. It is renewable and contingent upon an annual progress review. The scholarship can be held for a maximum of 24 months of full-time study. It’s important to note that this scholarship does not cover fees, and recipients are responsible for paying their fees from the awarded amount. One new award is bestowed each year.

Begin by logging into the FGS Scholarship Management Platform. If you already have a Dalhousie NetID, select “Use Dalhousie NetID” for login. If not, enter your email address and create a password. You only need to create one account, even if you plan to apply for multiple opportunities.
Create a new application or modify an existing one by selecting from the list under “My Applications” on your homepage. Each applicant is allowed to submit only one application per competition, so please refrain from submitting multiple Harmonized Scholarship applications.
