1. Be an international student enrolled at Douglas College.
2. Be enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credits within any academic program or Faculty.
3. Have completed at least 21 letter grade credits at Douglas College towards any academic program with a minimum GPA of 3.75.
4. Students can receive this award a maximum of one time during their studies at Douglas College.
5. There is no application for this scholarship; candidates are selected based on the above criteria and notified if they have been awarded a scholarship.

Dr. Guangwei Ouyang International Education Entrance Scholarship

A separate application is required. Applicants must complete the entrance scholarship form (PDF) by the deadline below and email it along with all supporting documents to Douglas International. To be considered, students must have already applied to Douglas College.

Students are selected based on their previous academic performance and their engagement in their school, community, and/or personal development.

Students from all countries are eligible for these scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Douglas College International Student Scholarship, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:

Language Requirement: Proficiency in English. Eligible

Countries: Open to all countries worldwide.

Admission Requirements: Applicants must submit a High School Diploma with a minimum GPA of 60% or its equivalent.

English Language Proficiency: Applicants should meet the English Language proficiency requirements, which include a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 83 or a minimum overall band test score of 6.5 in the IELTS Academic module.

How to Apply Douglas College Scholarship

Step 1. Find Your Program: Douglas College has over 100 undergraduate and post-degree programs to choose from! Find a program open to international students and pick the one you like.

Step 2. Check Requirements: Check the Douglas College admission requirements and application dates and deadlines for international students.

Step 3. Check Program Availability: Contact International Admissions to make sure your program is available before submitting an application.

Step 4. Apply Online: Navigate to Education Planner BC, create an account, fill in your personal information, choose your program, and pay the $100 CAD application fee.

Step 5. Submit Your Documents: Scan your documents as separate PDFs and send the files to International Admissions to be checked and verified.

Step 6. Receive An Offer Of Admission: If you meet the College’s entry requirements, an offer letter will be sent within 7-10 business days and will include instructions on how to accept your offer and provide the deposit.

Step 7. Pay The Deposit To Accept The Offer And Receive A LOA: After you have accepted your offer, you will receive a letter of acceptance followed by more information about course planning, registration, new student orientation, and more.

Step 8. Apply For A Study Permit and Prepare to Arrive: Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) requires credential-seeking students to hold a valid study permit during their studies in Canada. Students from certain countries must also apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV).
