Hatfield Bursaries are non-repayable grants awarded to new full-time home undergraduate students at Hatfield College. Funded by the Hatfield Trust, these bursaries help ease the financial burden by covering essential one-off costs associated with starting your college life. With this support, you can focus on your studies and personal development from day one.
Benefits of the Bursary
For eligible students, a Full Hatfield Bursary covers:
- Junior Common Room (JCR) Levy
- Hatfield Association Membership
- Hatfield Trust Donation

- Lion in Winter Ball Ticket: One Entertainment ticket each year, with an additional ticket (including Dining) during the 3rd or 4th year

For students receiving a Part Hatfield Bursary, the benefit covers:

Who Is Eligible for a Hatfield Bursary?
The bursaries target new full-time home undergraduate students at Hatfield College who began their studies in 2019 or later. Eligibility is determined based on household income as assessed by Student Finance England (or its equivalent):
- Full Hatfield Bursaries:
Awarded to new undergraduates with no previous degree, whose household income is less than £30,000. - Part Hatfield Bursaries:
Awarded to new undergraduates (without a prior degree) whose household income falls between £30,000 and £47,200.
For students eligible for a Full Hatfield Bursary, further support will be provided each year of your registered study—up to a maximum of four years—even if you study abroad or on a placement year. In contrast, Part Hatfield Bursaries are a one-time award available only during your first year.

How Do You Receive a Hatfield Bursary?
One of the best aspects of the Hatfield Bursaries is that you do not need to submit a separate application. Your eligibility is automatically determined based on the household income details provided during the student finance application process. Once Student Finance England (or the equivalent) shares your household income with Hatfield College, the bursary is awarded to you if you meet the criteria.
