Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Nominators
Must be a university professor in mathematics holding a PhD
Based at a recognized university or research center
Currently supervising Master’s or PhD students in mathematics
Individual students cannot apply independently
Prior mentoring relationship with the nominee is strongly recommended.
Requirements for Student Nominees
Students nominated must:
- Be enrolled or pre-accepted into a PhD program at a recognized university or research institution in an IMU-designated developing country
- Demonstrate an outstanding academic record in mathematical sciences
- Aspire to a career in mathematical teaching and research
- Be a citizen and resident of an eligible developing country
- Have a confirmed thesis advisor and defined research project
Note: Students enrolled in joint graduate programs involving institutions outside IMU-designated developing countries are not eligible.
