Applications are now open for the Kyoto University ADB-JSP Scholarship in Japan 2025, a prestigious and fully funded opportunity for international students aiming to pursue Master’s and graduate degree programs at one of Japan’s most respected institutions. Scholarship Benefits

The ADB-JSP will cover;

  1. tuition fees,
  2. travel expenses,
  3. subsistence allowance of approximately 147,000 yen/month,
  4. medical/accident insurance,
  5. books/instructional material and research allowances,
  6. miscellaneous. *You are required to submit a financial report every 6 months and need to keep all the receipts for the goods you have purchased from this fund.

Eligibility

All applicants of the ADB-JSP must:

A national of an ADB borrowing member. Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country. Gained admission to an approved i-PM course at Kyoto University. A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with a superior academic record.

At least two (2) years of full-time professional working experience (acquired after a university degree) at the time of application. Proficiency in oral and written English communication skills to be able to pursue studies.

Not more than 35 years old at the time of application. (*Our program is not specified for senior officials and managers by ADB. Therefore, the age limit is not more than 35 years old.)

In good health and should agree to return to his/her home country after completion of studies under the Program. (Required to work in his/her home country more than 2 years after that.)

How To Apply

Applicant requests information and application forms from the chosen partner institution.

2. Applicant completes required documents[1] for application including ADB-JSP information sheet

3. Applicant sends documents to institution

4. The institution evaluates and decides on admission and applicant

5. The institution sends a shortlist of candidates to ADB

6. ADB reviews submissions from institutions

7. ADB recommends awardees based on its selection criteria to the Japanese executive director for approval

8. ADB selects scholars and informs the institution

9. The institution informs all scholars
