Eligible applicants
Interested applicants may be from more than 30 eligible countries that have signed an agreement on the co-operation in education and science with Latvia and are other partner countries in Europe, Asia, North and South America, and Africa.
International students and academic and research staff can apply for participation in summer schools in Latvia financed by the Latvian Government scholarships.
Awarded period
- Up to 10 months for Bachelor’s and Master’s students;
- Up to 11 months for PhD students
Application conditions
An applicant must choose a study program at a Latvian HEI before applying for a scholarship.
An applicant must receive the confirmation letter for the chosen study program from a Latvian HEI before submitting a scholarship application.
An applicant who is already studying at a Latvian HEI should also receive the confirmation letter for the present or chosen study programme before the application for a scholarship.
The confirmation letter for the chosen study program from a Latvian HEI needs to be provided by the designated contact person.
The international student can receive a Latvian state scholarship for a maximum of two terms during their studies.

An applicant has to register in the system and make a profile with a unique login and password. ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
Fill in an application form according to the set CRITERIA; incomplete and incorrect applications are not assessed.
Attach all the necessary application documents (translated into Latvian or English),
Submit the application by the deadline of the call,
Receive an official decision on the award of the scholarship by email in June, and the decision is available in the candidate’s profile in the electronic application system.
