National Tsing Hua University Scholarships in Taiwan 2025 (Fully Funded)

Application is invited to apply for National Tsing Hua University Scholarships in Taiwan 2025. This is a fully funded scholarship program for international students to undertake bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.

National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) provides a range of fields and scholarships. Currently, NTHU is offering the International Student Scholarship 2025 for Fall admissions. This fully funded scholarship is available to international students pursuing Undergraduate/Bachelor’s, Master’s (MPhil/MS), and Doctorate (Ph.D.) degrees.

National Tsing Hua University is a public research university in Hsinchu, Taiwan. It was first founded in Beijing. After the Chinese Civil War, President Mei Yiqi, and other major academics fled to Taiwan with the retreating Nationalist government.

Eligibility

An individual who meets the following criteria is eligible to apply for admission under “MOEi Regulations
Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan.”.

An individual of foreign nationality, who has never held Republic of China (“R.O.C.”) citizenship and
who does not possess an Overseas Chinese student status at the time of his/her application is eligible
to apply.

An individual of foreign nationality, pursuant to the following requirements i.e., who has resided
overseas continuously for no less than 6 years is eligible to apply for admission. The six-year
calculation period as prescribed shall be calculated to the starting date of the semester (Feb.1st or
Aug.1st). The term “overseas” as prescribed is limited to countries or regions other than Mainland China,
Hong Kong and Macau; the term “reside overseas continuously” means that an individual may stay in
Taiwan for no more than a total of 120 days per calendar year.

An applicant of foreign nationality, concurrently holding a permanent residence status in Hong Kong
or Macao, having no history of a household registration record in Taiwan and, at the time of application,
who has resided in Hong Kong, Macao, or another foreign country continuously for no less than 6 years,
is eligible for admission. The term “reside overseas continuously” mentioned in the preceding
paragraph means that an individual may have stayed in Taiwan previously for no more than a total of
120 days per calendar year

Applicants with a high school diploma are eligible to apply for the four-year undergraduate programs.
Applicants with a bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for the master’s programs; applicants with a
master’s degree are eligible to apply for the doctoral programs.

Application fee Payment Receipt and The online application form.

Be sure to upload the application fee payment receipt (either transaction receipt or payment record
screenshot) onto the online application system after you have made the payment. Please specify
your application number on the receipt. If you are applying for more than one program, please
include all application numbers on the receipt.

The applicant must complete the application form through the NTHU’s online application system.
Download the form to paste a photo and sign in your handwriting at the bottom of the form.

Applicants for Bachelor programs: high school diploma ■ Applicants for Master programs: bachelor degree’s diploma ■ Applicants for the Ph.D. programs: master degree’s diploma. Note: Notarized English or Chinese diplomas will be required after an acceptance of admission.

Scholarship Details

National Tsing Hua University is offering a number of scholarships for all international students:

Doctoral Students:

• Monthly stipend: NTD 20,000 to 40,000
• For GPA and annual renewal requirements, please see “How to apply” (available to new students who apply for admission)

Master’s Students:

• Monthly stipend: NTD 5,000 or
• Annual stipend: NTD 60,000

Bachelor’s Students:

• Monthly stipend: NTD 5,000 or
• Annual stipend: NTD 60,000

• Tuition and credit fees waived

Go to the NTHU International Student Online Application System https://nthuoga-admission.vm.nthu.edu.tw/student/index/portal

Create Your Account.

Click “Register” to create a Login ID (email account) and password to set up an account. The system will
create an account for you after clicking “Submit”. You cannot begin applying without first setting up your
account. A valid email is required to continue the process, as this will be our primary means of
communication with you. If you do not have a valid email account, please create one before proceeding.

Fill Out the Application Information.

The application has five sections, which are “Applicant Information,” “Family Information,” “Education
Background, “Language Background,” and “Other Information.” When finished with each section, please
click “Save” and then “Next” to proceed.
