The Royal Society Industry Fellowship scheme is a program that aims to encourage collaboration between academic researchers and industry partners in the UK. The scheme provides funding for academic researchers to work on a collaborative research project with an industry partner.
The Industry Fellowship scheme is open to researchers from all fields of science, including engineering, technology, and mathematics. The scheme provides funding for up to two years, with the possibility of extension for a further year.
This long-standing scheme enables the mobility of talented scientists and engineers from industry and academia in order to move between sectors. These secondments support the researcher’s development, foster the exchange of knowledge, stimulate longer-term collaborations, and establish personal, scientific, and corporate links between sectors.

About the Royal Society
The Royal Society is a fellowship of the world’s most eminent scientists and is the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence. It was founded in 1660 by a group of 12 scientists, including Sir Christopher Wren and Robert Boyle, with the goal of promoting scientific knowledge and advancing scientific understanding.
Today, the Royal Society is a self-governing society of around 1,700 Fellows elected from the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, and the rest of the world, who are distinguished for their scientific achievements. The Society’s mission is to promote excellence in science and to encourage the development and use of science for the benefit of humanity.
The Royal Society is involved in a wide range of activities, including funding research, promoting science education and communication, and advising policymakers on issues related to science and technology. The Society also hosts a number of prestigious awards and prizes, including the Royal Society Medal, the Royal Society of Edinburgh Medal, and the Royal Society Insight Investment Science Book Prize.
