Who Is Eligible?

To qualify for the SICS program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. Citizenship Requirements

Applicants must be citizens of one of the eligible countries/territories listed below:

• Asia: Bangladesh, Nepal, Taiwan
• Europe : Türkiye, Ukraine
• Middle East and North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia
• Sub-Saharan Africa: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda

2. Enrollment Status

• Be enrolled full-time at a post-secondary institution in an eligible country/territory.
• Pay tuition fees to that institution at the time of application and throughout the scholarship period.

3. Additional Restrictions

Candidates are not eligible if they:

• Hold or have applied for Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
• They are already participating in a scholarship program funded by the government of Canada.
• Are currently enrolled in a degree, diploma, or certificate program at a Canadian post-secondary institution.

Scholarship Details

Scholarship Value and Duration

• Undergraduate/College Level: $10,200 CAD for four months (one academic term).
  • A valid student exchange agreement waiving tuition fees is required.
• Graduate Level (Masters/PhD): $10,200 CAD for four months (one academic term).
  • No student exchange agreement is required.

How to Apply

The application process is straightforward but requires coordination between students, their home institutions, and Canadian host institutions. Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Connect with a Canadian Institution

• Reach out to Canadian post-secondary institutions offering programs aligned with your academic interests.
• Ensure the institution has a valid student exchange agreement (required for undergraduate/college-level applicants).

Step 2: Prepare Application Materials

Work with your home institution to gather the necessary documents, which may include:

• Proof of citizenship and enrollment.
• Academic transcripts and records.
• A statement of intent outlining your study or research goals.

Step 3: Canadian Institution Submits Application

Canadian institutions are responsible for submitting applications on behalf of eligible candidates. Key steps for institutions include:

1. Assign a program coordinator to manage the application process.
2. Create a My EduCanada account and select “Study in Canada Scholarships Program.”
3. Complete the online application form, upload supporting documents, and validate all entries.
4. Submit the application by the deadline: March 18, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Step 4: Await Results

• Successful candidates will be notified by their Canadian host institution in the spring.
• Unsuccessful applicants will not receive feedback on their applications.
