Tongji University is now welcoming applications for the Chinese Government Scholarship 2025 (CSC Scholarship) for Master’s and Ph.D. programs. This scholarship supports international students aiming to pursue advanced studies in China at Tongji University, a leading institution located in Shanghai. Known for its commitment to academic excellence, Tongji offers diverse programs taught in Chinese or English, depending on the selected degree.
The Chinese University Program, sponsored by the Ministry of Education, seeks to attract exceptional international talent to specific Chinese universities, including Tongji. The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support for graduate studies.
Founded in 1907, Tongji University is among the oldest and most prestigious universities in China. It ranks 265th globally according to the 2021 QS World University Rankings and was listed 13th among 72 universities in China by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019. The program duration is 2–3 years for Master’s degrees and 3–4 years for Ph.D. degrees.

Application Qualification
1. Non-Chinese citizens in good health;
2. Age: The maximum age for applicants for master’s degrees is 35; the maximum age for applicants for doctoral degree is 40;
3. Students participating in joint development programs and students studying in their native language or another third-country language or literature, such as English, or French, are not eligible;
4. No other kinds of Chinese government scholarships have been obtained at the same time.
Scholarships and Standards
Full coverage on tuition fees, free Comprehensive Medical Insurance, and living allowance (postgraduate student: 3000 RMB/month, Doctoral student: 3500 RMB/month)；
Free on-campus accommodation, if the on-campus accommodation is full and you need to arrange off-campus accommodation by yourself, you can apply for an off-campus accommodation subsidy (postgraduate student: RMB 700/month students, Doctoral student: RMB 1000/month)。

Note: Only electronic application materials need to be uploaded into the application system at the application stage. Failure to submit the application materials that meet the above requirements within the specified time limit will be regarded as a failure of the application. If accepted, please make sure to bring the original paper version of the application materials for verification when reporting to the university. If you are unable to submit, or the materials do not match, you will be disqualified from enrollment.

How To Apply
The applicant must submit an application to the online application system of Tongji University (http://study-info.tongji.edu.cn/) before 23:59 (Beijing time) on February 20, 2025, for the Chinese Government Scholarship and pay the application fee. The online application system will not accept modifications or supplementary materials after the deadline.
After our review, the applicant’s application status in the online application system of Tongji University becomes “Waiting for Admission”;
The school will issue the electronic admission notification to the applicants who are “Waiting for Admission” in the application system;
After receiving the notification, the applicant should log in to the online application system for studying in China of China Scholarship Council (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login) within the time frame notified by the school to complete the online application, and print the Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (overseas study program type: B, Tongji University’s organization code: 10247) (Please refer to the annex for the operation process and material list of the Chinese government scholarship application system.).
