Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship 2026 (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) 2026, a prestigious fully funded master’s scholarship for citizens of Commonwealth member states. This unique program allows students to pursue a two-year Master’s degree in low- or middle-income Commonwealth countries, promoting cross-cultural exchange and global academic collaboration.

Funded and supported by several Commonwealth governments, the QECS 2026 covers full tuition fees, living expenses, travel costs, and more. A wide range of academic fields and majors is available across participating institutions.

There are two application cycles each year:

  • Cycle 1: Opens in November/December
  • Cycle 2: Opens in March/April

You only need to submit one application per cycle, but if you’re interested in studying in a different country, you’re welcome to apply again in the next round.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships for Master’s students, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Applicants must be citizens of Commonwealth countries and willing to study for a master’s degree.

Applicants must have earned a Bachelor’s degree with a score of 2:1 or equivalent (or that allows them to enter a postgraduate course) from a world-renowned university.

Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership and academic skills and be able to communicate with people of different cultures, races, and nationalities.

Required Documents

  • High school certificate
  • Undergraduate transcript (and graduation certificate)
  • Two references – preferably academic
  • Scan of passport or national ID card
  • Proof of English language ability if English is not your first language
  • Complete a QECS at the University of Pretoria by completing an online application form.

Visit the relevant university website for more information on your chosen course using the links included below.

Complete and submit a QECS application for your chosen university/course by clicking the ‘Apply now’ button. Once you’ve clicked apply, you’ll be directed to a login page. If you don’t already have a myACU account, click ‘get started’ in the right-hand corner of the page to start your application.
