Korea University Global KU Scholarship 2026 (Funded)

Applications are now open for the Korea University Global KU Scholarship 2026 — one of the most prestigious and competitive fully funded scholarships in South Korea. Established in 1905, Korea University (KU) stands among the country’s oldest and most respected institutions, renowned for its academic excellence, innovative research, and commitment to global education.

The Global KU Scholarship is exclusively available to students nominated through University-Level Agreements, making it an elite opportunity for international students who aspire to study at one of Asia’s leading universities.

Launched in 2005 to celebrate the university’s centennial anniversary, this scholarship program aims to nurture future global leaders by supporting outstanding students from around the world to study at Korea University.

Scholarship Coverage

First Semester at KU:

New Exchange students (University Level Agreement only) * The type and amount of scholarship will be decided by the Korea University

Admission Scholarship: Starts from KRW 100,000 up to KRW 1,600,000 for the first semester

Travel Scholarship: Starts from KRW 100,000 up to KRW 1,500,000 for the first semester

Second Semester at KU:

Continuing Exchange students (University Level Agreement only)

Awarded on the basis of academic merit of the first semester at Korea University, KRW 1,200,000 for the second semester.

Visiting students (Merit Scholarship only)

Only applicable to exchange/visiting students who participate in a one-year program at a university-wide level.

• Global KU scholarship application form
• One passport-sized photograph (attached to the application form)
• Letter of recommendation

Important Notice

All documents must be written and provided in English. Please attach translations in English if the document is in any other language.

Documents submitted with the application will not be returned to the applicant.

A letter of recommendation needs to be given from a person who can support your academic performance. Letter MUST be sent from the reference to: via e-mail [email protected]

The Awards Committee considers several factors when making its decision, including not only academic factors but also geographic and strategic factors. All decisions are final and cannot be overturned.
