Mexico Government Scholarship 2024 (Fully Funded)

Application is invited to apply for the Government of Mexico Scholarships of Excellence for Foreigners 2024. This is a fully-funded Mexico Government Scholarship to undertake a bachelor’s Degree, Speciality, Specialization, Masters’s Degree, Doctorate & Postgraduate Research.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), through the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), invites foreign students to study in Mexico. The Government of Mexican Scholarship will cover all the expenses.

The Call is offered to more than 180 countries, within the framework of bilateral agreements, multilateral mechanisms, and special agreements. Through the granting of Scholarships of Excellence by the Government of Mexico for foreign students, Mexico strengthens its role as an actor with global responsibility and reaffirms its commitment to promoting cooperation actions to promote the formation of high-level human capital.

Financial Coverage

For Master’s scholarships, mobility at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, and Master’s level
research, a monthly stipend of 4 (four) times the monthly value of the Federal Economic
Measurement Unit (UMA), currently equivalent to $12,614.80 (Twelve thousand six hundred
fourteen pesos and 80/100 M.N.) per month. The UMA is subject to changes established by
law. (Stipend is paid in the following month).

For Doctoral scholarships and research stays at the doctoral and postdoctoral levels, a
monthly stipend of 5 (five) times the monthly value of the UMA, currently equivalent to
$15,768.50 (Fifteen thousand seven hundred sixty-eight pesos and 50/100 M.N.). The UMA
is subject to changes established by law. (Stipend is paid in the following month).

Medical insurance through the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS). The coverage will
begin from the seventh month of the scholarship and will last for a period similar to the
scholarship period granted.

Duration of the Scholarship

• Undergraduate (4 Years)
• Graduate-level Research and Postdoctoral Fellowship (12 months)
• Specialization (1 year)
• Master’s Degree (2 years)
• Doctoral Programs (3 or 4 years)
• Medical Specialization and sub-specialization (3 years)

Scholarships will not be granted for preparing thesis papers to obtain an academic degree.

The scholarship is non-transferable and cannot be deferred to academic years following the
period for which it was granted.

Once the scholarship has been granted, the established periods published in the results
announcement will not be modified or extended, nor will there be any changes to the
the academic program, Institution, and/or research.

How To Apply

Applications must adhere to the provisions outlined in this Call for Applications, including the
documents referred to therein and the corresponding formats, in the following terms:

Applications will be received electronically through the Academic Cooperation Management
System (SIGCA) (https://sigca.sre.gob.mx) during its validity period.

The application registration must be in Spanish.

The SIGCA portal will remain open to receive applications from May 15, 2023, starting at 6:00 PM, to July 21 at 3:00 PM Central Mexico time.

The request is made on a personal basis, and only one registration per person will be
accepted.

An applicant with more than one nationality may submit only one application, which must
correspond to one of the eligible countries in this Call for Applications (Annex 5). This must
be submitted in accordance with the nationality with which the applicant will be accredited.

Only applications for a scholarship that is part of the academic offer (Annex 6) of this Call for
Applications will be evaluated.
